Totara Bridge Closure: Due to the structural condition of the Totara Bridge it has had to be closed. Riders are able to ride down to the bridge from either side but are not be able to cross it as barriers will be in place. This is an unfortunate situation that is outside the control of the Westland District Council and the Council apologises for any inconvenience. Alternative options are being explored.

15 January 2026: Fulton Hogan are working on roading development along Tramway Road at Kumara for the next three weeks. A passing lane exists and the site is being managed. Cyclists are asked to take care in the area.
